Xprinter driver settings
Settings for Xprinter 4-inch label printers
Menus vary by driver version; look for these options under Printing Preferences.
| Setting | Use | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Paper / stock size | 4 × 6 in (100 × 150 mm) | Must match the label roll, otherwise the printer stretches or skips labels |
| Scale | 100% / Actual size | “Fit to page” shrinks the label and softens the barcode |
| Margins | None / 0 | The PDF from Label Crop AI already has the right margins |
| Orientation | Portrait | Wide labels are already rotated to fit the roll when Auto-rotate is on |
| Media type | Labels with gaps (die-cut) | Lets the sensor find the gap between stickers so each print starts on a new label |
| Darkness | Start mid-range, raise one step at a time | Too light gives broken bars; too dark makes bars bleed together |
| Print speed | A slower setting | Slower printing gives crisper barcodes on almost every thermal printer |
| Paper size | Custom 100 × 150 mm | Xprinter drivers often default to a smaller size — always check before a batch |
Common issues
Fixing the usual Xprinter problems
On most Xprinter label models, holding the FEED button makes the printer re-learn the label length. Check your model’s manual for the exact method, and repeat it for every new roll.
- Prints over two labels → paper size in the driver does not match the roll
- Every other label blank → re-run label learning / calibration
- Light print → increase density in the driver
- Label off-centre → set margins to zero and scale to 100%
